Iraq villages suffer months without enough fresh water

With temperatures approaching almost 50 degrees Celsius (122°F) in southern Iraq, villages have started to run out of fresh water supply. Instead, families rely on mixing salty well water with government-supplied water which is only delivered by a truck once or twice a week. Authorities have blamed the drought for the current water shortages, but also dams built upstream in neighbouring Turkey and Iran.
