German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on February 22 that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project will be halted following Moscow's actions in eastern Ukraine on Monday. The pipeline, meant to supply natural gas through the Baltic Sea from Russia directly to Germany, has not yet begun operating.
