Muslims worldwide navigate Covid-19 restrictions at the start of holy month of Ramadan

Muslims embarked on the first day of Ramadan on April 13, 2021, an Islamic festival that lies on the ninth month of the lunar calendar. During the holy month, worshippers traditionally congregate for prayers, gather around festive meals to break their day-long fast and exchange visits. But in the second year of the Covid-19 pandemic, Muslims are navigating social restrictions imposed by authorities to prevent a rise in infections.
