Egypt unveils treasures at ancient site in find that ‘rewrites history’

Egypt on January 17, 2021, unveiled ancient treasures found at the Saqqara ancient burial site near the capital Cairo. The archaeological mission that started in 2007 discovered more than 50 sarcophagi that are at least 3,000 years old. Famed Egyptologist Zahi Hawass, who led the team, called the discovery one that “rewrites history”.
