Egypt releases container ship that blocked Suez Canal for nearly a week following deal with owner

The container ship that blocked the Suez Canal for nearly a week in March, causing a 100-vessel backup, has finally been released. The Ever Given was allowed to set sail after the Suez Canal Authority reached a compensation agreement with the vessel’s Japanese owner on July 7, 2021.
