People in New York ‘not afraid’ despite US state declaring an emergency over coronavirus fears

Visitors and residents of New York  say they are not worried by Governor Andrew Cuomo’s move to declare a state of emergency because of the coronavirus outbreak. Many say that as long as they are careful about personal hygiene, there is no need to change their way of life. As of 10 March, more than 170 people in the US state had tested positive for Covid-19. Thousands more are self-quarantined at home after potential exposure to the  coronavirus that causes the disease.
