Indonesian YouTuber Nikmatul Rosidah cooks up online fame with stories of family life in Hong Kong

Nikmatul Rosidah Dobson is one of Hong Kong’s most popular YouTubers. But instead of videos produced in the city’s official languages, English or Cantonese, the shy housewife’s clips use the Bahasa spoken in her native Indonesia. Rosidah now has more than 1.4 million subscribers to a YouTube channel started as a hobby before it grew into a collection of more than 1,400 videos of her everyday activities. People across Southeast Asia and around the world tune in to see her at work in her home in a village in Hong Kong’s New Territories, as she cooks meals and raises her three children with Canadian husband Paul Dobson.
