The annual march marking Hong Kong's handover day went ahead today just hours after Chinese President Xi Jinping flew out, having overseen the inauguration of the incoming chief executive Carrie Lam.
Organisers expected a crowd of 100,000 but eyewitnesses reported less than a tenth of that turned out.
