China announced it will resume issuing nearly all types of visas for foreigners, including for tourism, starting on March 15, 2023, taking another step in the country’s emergence from its strict zero-Covid controls. It will also resume accepting previously granted visas that are still valid, and allow regional visa-free entry for several places, including Hainan Island and for cruise ships that stop in Shanghai, as well as for foreigners to travel into Guangdong from Hong Kong and Macau, China’s embassy in the US said in a statement.
