HKDSE - Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education

Hong Kong university exams go ahead despite coronavirus pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic has forced Hong Kong officials to postpone the city’s university entrance exams which were originally expected to start on March 27, 2020. When the Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) exams finally got under way on April 24, candidates all needed to get temperature checks, wear face masks and sit 1.8 metres (6ft) apart to try and minimise the risk of spreading Covid-19.

More than a total of 52,000 people will take this year’s DSE exams between April 24 and May 25, at about 350 exam centres at secondary schools around the city.
