At the start of the Lunar New Year, pet rabbits have become popular in China. Wang Yilong, a second-generation breeder of a family-owned pet rabbit business, had switched to live streaming to keep up with a spike in sales. Wang estimated that his operation alone is on track to sell 1,000 to 2,000 rabbits per month since the surge in demand that began around the time of the holiday welcoming the start of the Year of the Rabbit in early January.
