Mmmmm peanut butter.

I would call it “all-purpose sauce” because it is delicious with everything. Smear “all-purpose sauce” on bread, or mix it into a dipping sauce for hot pot – it’s fantastic.

“Morning Fun”: I believe peanut butter is magical. It drives away exhaustion when you wake up without having properly rested the night before. (I especially love it on breakfast pancakes.) It gives you energy and makes you happy. “Morning Fun” helps you start your day right.

What would be the worst “buy one, get one free” deal ever?

Peanut butter should be called “anaphylactic paste” because many people are allergic to it. For some, even a tiny bit could cause a serious allergic reaction, such as anaphylactic shock, which causes breathing difficulties that can be life-threatening.

Fortunately, I’m not allergic to “anaphylactic paste”, so I will keep spreading it on my bread!

Hayley Wong Yeuk-hei, 12, Maryknoll Fathers’ School

It's the perfect snack (if you're not allergic).

I would name it “creamy peanut”. When you eat peanut butter, it melts in your mouth just like ice cream. I absolutely love the flavour, and think a slice of bread with creamy peanut is the best way to kick-start your day.

“Wake-me-up Splat”. Whenever I know I have peanut butter for breakfast, I jump out of bed. Just picture it: a large spoonful of Splat spread on a piece of crunchy toast. It’s a work of art. A delicious, sweet work of art

When was the last time you tried something new?

I’d call it “I’m full sauce”. Having a spoonful of peanut butter is a good way to avoid overeating. It makes you feel full, so you’re less likely to pick up unhealthy snacks between meals.

Celine Yu, 15, Fung Kai No. 1 Secondary School

It’s not a huge difference, but I’d call it peanut paste, because it’s made from peanuts just like sesame paste is made from sesame seeds.

Jenny Tsang Tsz-Ching, 15, Fung Kai No. 1 Secondary School

It could be called “bread’s mate” because peanut butter is best friends with bread. The combination of the two is tastier than either of them on their own.

Yannie Lau, 12, Maryknoll Fathers’ School

The quickest way to make you angry

I would call it “butter cookies butter”. Butter cookies are buttery and soft, just like peanut butter. When I’m eating butter cookies, I immediately think of peanut butter: aromatic and delicious, with a sweet taste that is hard to put into words.

Karen Liu Hoi-lam, 16, Ho Yu College and Primary School

I would call it “Snoopy jam”. Why? Because when we talk about peanuts, I think about the •Peanuts• comics, which features Snoopy, a cartoon dog. I think even more people would want to buy “Snoopy jam” than peanut butter.

Chu King-hang, 12, Maryknoll Fathers’ School
