Top 10: What would be the worst 'buy one, get one free' deal ever?
- Useful or useless? These are the sales would ignore
- From toilet brushes to paying twice the original price, here's the worst shopping deals of all time
My “buy one, get one free” nightmare would be getting two boxes of “family assorted biscuits”. I’m not talking about any old biscuits; I mean the ones that come in a huge red box.
We get them as Chinese New Year presents from our relatives, and they will still be around at the end of the year. I mean, I can’t even finish one box after a whole year, so what am I supposed to do with two boxes? Oh Lord, may you save me from the endless hell of biscuits!

I was shopping with my mum some time ago when we saw a store promoting one free toilet brush for every five you buy. Who needs six toilet brushes?
However, my mum bought them and still uses them. She uses a different toilet brush every day!

What's the smallest thing you're grateful for?
For me, it would be buying a book and getting the same book for free. You already own the book, so an extra copy would be useless unless you are happy to give it to someone else who wants it.

Such a deal wouldn’t be great if I was buying a pet. Keeping one pet is already very difficult. You need to feed it, take care of it, and play with it every day. I can’t imagine having two pets. I wouldn’t have free time to do anything else.

I saw a really terrible “buy one, get one free” offer once. The so-called “special price” was twice the original price, which means you weren’t getting anything for free at all! You were just buying two of the same product. The seller used this “discount” to attract people to buy their product, but they were cheating the public.

The last time you tried something new
I guess no one wants an extra coffin. Imagine being told when you buy a coffin that you would get one for free? What would you think? I think the “buy one, get one free” offer would add insult to injury.

Buying a washing machine and getting a free one would be the worst deal. It’s pretty useless having two washing machines at home. And who has that much spare space for them?

I’ve had a bad “buy one, get one free” experience. My mum and I bought a few tubs of ice-cream at the supermarket, because there was a “buy one, get one free” offer.
When we got home, we were shocked to hear that electricity would be cut off to our flat the next day. That meant we couldn’t keep the ice cream in the freezer. Although we tried our best to finish it all, we failed. We finally gave the rest to our neighbours.
The experience taught us not to be greedy.

Which of your flaws are you most proud of?
It has to be milk products, because they expire within such a short time. The milk would probably expire well before I have my last drink!

Cosmetics. Many online sellers often use “buy one, get one free” tactics. People are attracted and buy the products, thinking that they have saved money.
But often, the “free” lipstick or blush will end up sitting at the back of your shelf until you discover it one day but it’s probably expired by then. What a waste!
