Many farmers in Kyrgyzstan grow a toxic type of chewing tobacco called nasvay to supplement their income. The product has become very popular across Central Asian, as it props up fragile economies including in Kyrgyzstan’s impoverished southern region. But medical experts say it causes a range of health problems for users.
