The Paralympic Games are officially under way in Tokyo after more than a year’s delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Team Hong Kong is hoping to add to its 40 gold medals from previous Paralympic Games, with Elaine Wu Siu-ling, Hong Kong Paralympic Committee Chef de Mission saying the delay may work in favour of Hong Kong athletes. The city is already in a position to win medals on Day 1 of the action, with teen superstar swimmer Chan Yui-lam into the finals of the 100m butterfly S14.
