Twenty-four high profile Hong Kong activists, including Joshua Wong and Apple Daily boss Jimmy Lai, appeared in court on September 15 over the unauthorised Tiananmen crackdown vigil this summer.
Nathan Law and Sunny Cheung were also charged over the banned assembly on June 4 in Victoria Park but left the city before the hearing. Hong Kong’s justice department is seeking arrest warrants for the “absconded” pair.
