Four US college instructors stabbed in a park in Jilin, China

Four US instructors from a college in the US state of Iowa were attacked while visiting the northeastern Chinese province of Jilin on June 10, 2024. Cornell College President Jonathan Brand confirmed that the instructors were stabbed in a park in Jilin city, home to Beihua University, which is a partner university with Cornell College in Iowa. Reportedly, none of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries and were recovering in a local hospital. The motive for the attack was not clear, but a video released on June 10 appears to show the aftermath of the stabbing, with victims lying on the ground and conscious, but covered in blood.
