‘Two Sessions’: China to focus on gig workers and training to tackle unemployment

China is prioritising gig workers and vocational training to boost job creation as the nation faces economic challenges. Human Resources and Social Security Minister Wang Xiaoping emphasised the need to sustain employment for 30 million people who were lifted out of poverty and absorb 12.2 million new university graduates into the workforce. These efforts are crucial because of economic headwinds, demographic shifts and external pressures. The focus on employment strategies was highlighted during the "two sessions," China's annual legislative and political advisory meetings in Beijing.
