Protests continued across India on the weekend of July 22, 2023, following the release days before of a video showing two women being sexually assaulted and humiliated by a mob in the northeastern state of Manipur. One demonstration reportedly resulted in homes being burned by a group of angry women from the same community as the men accused of the attack.
