The grieving father of a trainee doctor, who was raped and murdered in Kolkata on August 9, 2024, said he was overwhelmed with the support his family has received, but he needed justice for his daughter. The 31-year-old doctor was found dead on a blood-soaked mattress in the teaching hospital where she worked. She was taking a rest in the hospital’s lecture hall after completing nearly 20 hours of a 36-hour shift.
