Flooding and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains kill at least 159 in India

Torrential downpours have lashed India's west coast in recent days, killing at least 159 people and leaving dozens missing. More than 40 died In the state of Maharashtra, where a large landslide hit the hillside village of Taliye in Raigad district, flattening dozens of homes in a matter of minutes. Environmental experts say climate change is to blame for increasing the frequency and intensity of rains during the annual monsoon.
