If you could redo one event from history, what would it be?

I think the period when Egyptians ruled much of the planet needs to be repeated.

I would convince them to redesign their pyramids, because they aren’t very interesting unless you happen to love triangles. I would persuade them to build the pyramids in crazy shapes. Architecture would certainly move forward if there were cool-looking pyramids that had been around for ages. Who knows, maybe this would help people in the modern day to be inspired to create even crazier buildings!

I would also change what pyramids are used for. Instead of tombs, they could be used to benefit the community. For example, some pyramids could be used to store resources such as water and food, while others could be used as a kind of factory. People working there could build large homes for people, grow plants, or raise animals.

I would also want to change what they did as a society. Instead of the rich controlling others, I would give everyone equal powers, and make it a democracy. Then everyone would be able to vote, no matter how rich or poor they are, helping to create a happier, more prosperous community.

This might sound a little evil but I would make sure Mao Zedong was never born. Think about it – his policies caused death and suffering, and many of his ideas are now being criticised. He wanted to destroy everything about the past, because he wanted to create a new future.

I agree that he managed to unite much of China for his cause, but don’t you think it would be better if he didn’t exist at all because of what he did to the people and the country’s reputation? We would have avoided a lot of death and destruction, and the heartbreaking stories that people of the Mao generation share with us today.

I’ve watched old video clips, in which people were crying after Mao died. I was shocked that they so strongly believed that Mao was a good person. When I was visited the history museum in Beijing, I saw people praising him. Why?

If Mao didn’t exist, then maybe the horrible events that happened afterwards, such as the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, could have been avoided.

People should stop believing that Mao’s leadership meant something to them. It’s time for our older generation to move forward – and the only way this can happen is to have their memories of a terrible era removed forever.

Adolf Hitler was the leader of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945. He started the second world war after Germany invaded Poland in September 1939. He allowed the Nazis to murder millions of Jews during the Holocaust.

Hitler was born on April 20, 1889, in Austria. In 1907, Hitler left the town he lived in to study fine art in Vienna. He applied to the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, but was rejected. In 1909, he ran out of money and was forced to live in homeless shelters. It was here that Hitler first heard the sort of racist ideas that would eventually shape his life.

If I could change one event from history, Hitler would be admitted to his dream school. In my opinion, Hitler’s rejection from Vienna’s Academy of Fine Arts sparked such a hatred of foreigners that it led him to becoming one of the most evil people the world has ever seen.

Had Hitler been accepted to study at the academy, he might have gone on to become an artist, and the second world war might never have happened, saving the lives of millions of people.
