Muzaffer Kayasan is Turkey's longest running Covid-19 patient, recording a continuous coronavirus infection for more than a year. The 56-year-old, who has a weakened immune system from leukaemia, has spent nine months in hospital and 5 months mostly alone in his flat. Kayasan is not allowed to be vaccinated while he remains positive for the coronavirus. Still he remains optimistic despite losing his sense of taste and smell from the disease. But he has appealed to authorities to ease his confinement.
