Turkey builds wall along Iranian border to prevent influx of Afghan migrants

Turkey is constructing a 40-mile (64km) long wall in the eastern province of Van along the Iranian border. The new concrete structure is intended to stop the influx of Afghan migrants crossing into the country through Iran. The number of refugees has been rising since the escalation of violence in Afghanistan amid the US troop withdrawal and an advancing Taliban militia.
