Robotic “gardeners” have been hard at work drawing an Olympics installation at Tokyo’s Ueno Park. The “gardeners” are actually two-metre-long (6.6ft) robotic arms that run on AI computer programs to create the artwork display “The Constant Gardeners”. The arms analyse video footage from Olympic athletes and use the data to trace their movements on gravel. The four robotic arms will create 150 illustrations taken during the course of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.
