Hong Kong elections: How much do people know about the Beijing-revamped Legislative Council polls?

Hong Kong’s first Legislative Council election since Beijing overhauled the city’s electoral system is scheduled on December 19, 2021. A total of 153 candidates will run in directly elected geographical constituencies, trade-based indirectly elected functional constituencies, and the election committee. In the absence of candidates from the opposition camp for the first time in the city’s history, most of the 10 geographical contests in the poll involve two or three pro-Beijing candidates competing for two seats alongside a solitary non-establishment independent or centrist hopeful. The Post's Nadia Lam visited Sha Tin, Wong Tai Sin, Choi Hung and Tung Chung to ask local residents about their electoral choices and willingness to vote.
