Japanese firms returning to Hong Kong despite ‘negative image,’ but not tourists: consul-general

Bilateral ties between Hong Kong and Japan have been strained following the city's ban on Japanese seafood imports over Tokyo’s release of treated nuclear waste water. In an exclusive interview, Japan’s consul-general Kenichi Okada said Japanese businesses in Hong Kong were staying and some that have left have returned, despite ongoing bilateral tensions and the city’s “negative image,” but Japanese tourist visits to the city haven't rebounded.
