A record-breaking downpour in Hong Kong has unexpected consequences for owners of some luxury houses in the city. The structures allegedly have illegal basements and structures unlawfully built on nearby government land. The unauthorised building works were exposed when the heavy rain triggered a landslide that threatened the safety of one of the houses.
