For the last 10 years, Derek Yung has been using nothing but a wooden pole and a garden rake to transform Hong Kong’s beaches into beautiful works of art. He first draws his designs on paper before setting to work in the far reaches of Hong Kong, away from the city bustle. He only has a limited time to make these sprawling pieces before the shoreline eventually washes them away. He wants to use his art to raise awareness about the environment and preserve Hong Kong’s remaining natural areas.
