Hong Kong protests: Joshua Wong pleads guilty for role in 2019 police headquarters siege

Hong Kong opposition activists Joshua Wong Chi-fung and Ivan Lam Long    -yin  have pleaded guilty to charges of inciting people to join an unauthorised assembly near police headquarters on June 21, 2019. During the protest, thousands of mostly young demonstrators demanded the withdrawal of the now-shelved extradition bill and the release of arrested anti-government protesters. Wong, Lam and Agnes Chow Ting, a former leader of their now-disbanded Demosisto party who had already pleaded guilty to related charges, appeared in court on November 23, 2020. Wong has also admitted to charges that he organised the protest. The trio will be held in custody while they await sentencing.
