Hong Kong police subdued dozens of people who refused to disperse following a march against mainland Chinese parallel traders in the border town of Sheung Shui on January 5, 2020.
Organisers said 10,000 people took part in the short march, chanting slogans against parallel traders as well as against the Hong Kong government, continuing to pressure it to meet their five key demands.
Police said the crowd peaked at 2,500. While most protesters left after the march, some gathered outside a mall and continued to chant slogans and refusing to leave despite police warnings that they were taking part in an unlawful assembly.
