Hong Kong gay civil servant wins top court appeal on spousal benefits for his husband

Hong Kong’s Court of Final Appeal has ruled in favour of a gay civil servant who applied for spousal employment benefits for his husband. The top court’s decision announced on June 6, 2019, is being hailed as a landmark for same-sex equality in the city, where gay marriage is not yet recognised.
