Young Hong Kong man suffers facial paralysis after receiving Covid-19 vaccine

Wilson Lam, 26, fainted outside a Hong Kong government-run vaccination centre where he took a China-made Sinovac jab on March 24, 2021, and woke up in hospital only to find much of his face paralysed.

Lam was among the twelve people in Hong Kong who have experienced temporary facial paralysis, a condition known as Bell’s palsy, after receiving Covid-19 vaccinations. All but one took the Sinovac jab.

But health experts stress that no direct link between this temporary condition and the vaccine has been established.
