Authorities in China’s northern Heilongjiang province have vowed to investigate an incident which appeared in a viral video showing health workers dumping rice and eggs that residents under lockdown had bought online. The video taken in the city of Jiamusi, which has been under lockdown since September 18, 2022, was widely circulated on social media, with many criticising the food wasted for the sake of pandemic prevention.
