Made in China: construction begins on country’s second home-grown cruise ship

The construction of China's second home-grown, large cruise ship started in Shanghai on August 8, 2022, when a steel-cutting ceremony was held on the same day. The latest cruise ship will be larger in size and capacity compared with China's first domestically built large cruise ship, which is also being assembled in Shanghai and is expected to be delivered in 2023. The new 341 metre long (1,119ft) and 37.2 metres wide (122ft) cruise ship has 2,144 rooms for passengers, 19 more than the first vessel.
