A record-breaking three-day heatwave has gripped vast regions of China, including the financial hub of Shanghai, since July 12, 2022. Temperatures reached a staggering 40°C (104°F) in more than 90 Chinese cities on Wednesday. Temperatures are forecast to continue exceeding 40°C (104°F) through July 17, 2022, according to China’s National Meteorological Centre.
