China’s top diplomat denies Xinjiang ‘genocide’ claims and defends Hong Kong national security law

China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi has denied any "so-called genocide, forced labour or religious oppression" in the Xinjiang, saying “the freedom of religious belief of all ethnic groups" is protected in the autonomous region. In a recorded video message delivered to a largely virtual UN Human Rights Council meeting, Wang also defended Beijing’s move to impose a national security law for Hong Kong.
