Police in the Indian capital New Delhi raided the office of the news portal site NewsClick and the homes of journalists and writers linked to it on October 3, 2023. The operation was part of an investigation into suspected illegal foreign funding of the media company, according to officials. The website founder and another staff member were also arrested following the raids over allegations that they received foreign money to spread “Chinese propaganda”.
