Sri Lankans search for missing loved ones decades after brutal civil war

Thousands of Sri Lankans, mostly ethnic Tamils, disappeared during the country’s 26-year civil war from 1983-2009. Relatives are still demanding answers to how loved ones went missing decades ago. It’s estimated that more than 60,000 people disappeared, according to the human rights group Amnesty International. Official records put that number at around 15,000 people.
