The Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation have suspended all of their events in light of the current coronavirus outbreak.
In a statement posted on its website, HKSSF announced that all competitions, activities and representative team training would be suspended starting last Saturday.
In light of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department shutting down and suspending their classes, the sports federation said the suspension of their events would last tentatively until March 15. It added it would review the situation and make further announcements in due course.

The suspension would affect most sporting events, including all athletics competitions held at Wan Chai Sports Ground across all divisions, which were originally scheduled to take place this month up till early March. Other affected events are squash, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, football, handball, rugby sevens, table tennis, tennis, and volleyball.
To reduce the risk of the spread of the novel coronavirus in the community, the federation also announced that its office would be temporarily closed from today till February 8. Member schools may contact them through email for enquiries.
Services such as online registration approval and registration card collection for student athletes or team managers are temporarily suspended until the office resumes normal operations.
