Coronavirus: Education Bureau making plans for HKDSE in case of continuing Covid-19 outbreak
The EDB told Young Post that they will address any changes to the public exams, due to begin in less than two months' time, 'as soon as possible'
The virus has led to schools being suspended for a second time this year. The Education Bureau has said it is making plans to deal with the disruption to HKDSE exams brought about by the government reaction to the coronavirus. The compulsory public exams were due on March 27.
City leader Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor on January 25 announced a two-week suspension of all secondary and primary schools, and kindergartens, until February 17, a move welcomed by teachers and parents. The new term was originally due to start on February 3.
This is the second class suspension this academic year following one in November due to the Hong Kong anti-government protests.

In a written reply to Young Post enquiries, the bureau said “The EDB is closely monitoring the developing situation and is staying in contact with the education sector and the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority regarding candidate and school needs.
“The Bureau will develop contingency plans regarding the exams. If there are any changes to exam arrangements, we will announce them as soon as possible.”
