Sheep grazing along the Cumberland River in the US state of Tennessee delights tourists and offers an eco-friendly landscaping solution.

But they can also see something a little less expected: hundreds of sheep nibbling on the grass along the riverbank. It follows a new trend in urban landscaping: using an old method to cut grass and do other upkeep.
Zach Richardson is the urban sheepherder who manages this flock. He said tourist boats go out of their way to let their passengers get a closer glimpse of the Nashville Chew Crew. They can be seen grazing a few hundred yards away from densely populated buildings.
“Everybody that comes out here and experiences the sheep enjoys it more than they would [seeing] someone on a lawnmower or a guy with a leaf blower or a weed eater,” Richardson said.
