The government has expanded its programme, so more people will be allowed to get the coronavirus vaccine. Photo: SCMP / Felix WongHong Kong’s vaccine programme will be expanded to allow those aged under 30 to get a Covid-19 jab.
Hongkongers aged 16 or above can receive a BioNtech jab, while those older than 18 can also opt for the Sinovac vaccine, a government source said.

“These are according to the vaccine manufacturers specifications, and are part of the conditions for approval for emergency use,” the source added.
Further details including the timetable will be revealed by the ministers coordinating the programme, Secretary for the Civil Service Patrick Nip Tak-kuen and Secretary for Food and Health Professor Sophia Chan Siu-chee, at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
