Thousands fleeing Afghanistan struggle to enter Kabul airport

Thousands of people trying to flee Afghanistan have been left stranded outside Kabul’s airport. Warning shots were fired and stun grenades were used to hold back the desperate crowds as they tried to enter. The airport is now controlled by more than 5,000 US troops assisting the evacuations, but Taliban militants have set up checkpoints around the facility.
