World Food Programme cuts rations to Afghanistan as millions close to famine

Baba Karim works as a porter in the Afghan capital Kabul to eke out a living for his family,  including 3 children with disabilities. On a good day, the Afghani earns US$2 at most. Like millions of others, Karim relies in part on food rations from the UN World Food Programme. But the WFP announced it would further cut rations to millions of Afghans in September. The programme says its funding is expected to run out by the end of October.
