After nearly a month in hospital, Hong Kong karate athlete Tsang Yee-ting recovers from Covid-19

Hong Kong karate athlete Tsang Yee-ting has been discharged after spending 29 days in hospital being treated for an infection with the coronavirus that causes Covid-19. Tsang said she had mild symptoms including muscle soreness, diarrhoea and a loss of her sense of taste and smell.

The 27-year-old elite athlete had travelled with her teammates to France to attend a training camp for an Olympic Games qualifying tournament which was supposed to take place in May. But the event in Paris was called off as the Covid-19 pandemic widened. A total of five people in the Hong Kong delegation tested positive for the coronavirus after they returned home in March.
