Luoyang city in China’s Henan province will be the stage for this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival Gala. Hosted by Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, the gala will be held on October 1, 2020. According to organisers this year’s stage has a ‘circular water surface’ of more than 50,000 square metres, with a performance zone located in the centre. Water is a key theme as the element is one of the symbols of the city. The Yi and Luo rivers pass through Luoyang while the Yellow River passes close by.
