The Liaoning, China’s first aircraft carrier

The Liaoning is China's first aircraft carrier. It was shown to the public in video of a massive naval display inspected by President Xi Jinping off the the southern island of Hainan.  The carrier was once a part of the Soviet navy and later the Ukrainian navy, before being sold to China. Needing a near total refit before commissioning in 2012, it is currently the largest vessel in China's fleet.
