Sea ice leaves Chinese islanders stranded

About 3,000 people on Juehua Island in northeast China’s Liaoning province have been stranded after authorities suspended ferry services due to a build-up of sea ice. An official said this year’s sea ice is worse than last year’s and shipping services aren’t expected to resume until March.
