Poverty forces Afghan children to abandon dreams of going to school for work in order to survive

Afghanistan continues to suffer from dwindling international aid, cut since the Taliban resumed power in Afghanistan in August 2021. The country’s worsening economy has hit Afghans hard, especially children who are unable to receive a basic education. Yet some cling on to their dream of someday returning to the classroom.
